Mummy Jalapeno Poppers
Get in the Halloween spirit with these delicious stuffed jalapeno poppers. These are filled with the traditional taste of a stuffed cheesy jalapeno but wrapped up in a fun Halloween mummy theme. Whip up a batch on Halloween as a snacketizer.
INGREDIENTS
| 5 | jalapenos, cut in half and deseeded |
| 4 oz | Athenos Whipped Feta Dip and Spread |
| 4 oz | grated mozzarella cheese |
| ½ tsp | garlic powder |
| ¼ tsp | kosher salt |
| 1 can | refrigerated crescent roll dough |
| 1 | egg, whisked |
| Googly eyes |
Method
- Preheat the oven to 400 F and line a sheet pans with parchment paper.
- Cut jalapeno peppers in half and remove seeds and insides.
- In a small bowl mix together Athenos Whipped Feta Dip and Spread, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, and salt until smooth and combined.
- Fill each jalapeno half with cheese dip and smooth the top. Do not overfill the cheese mixture.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut into thin ¼ inch strips. Wrap each jalapeno half with a thin strip of dough, leaving space at the top for google eyes.
- Place the jalapenos onto the baking sheet leaving space between each one.
- With a pastry brush, brush the whisked egg onto the dough.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are golden.
- Place two googly eyes in the top part of the mummy wraps.
