Mummy Jalapeno Poppers

Get in the Halloween spirit with these delicious stuffed jalapeno poppers. These are filled with the traditional taste of a stuffed cheesy jalapeno but wrapped up in a fun Halloween mummy theme. Whip up a batch on Halloween as a snacketizer.

Ingredients

  • 5 jalapeños, cut in half and deseeded
  • 4 oz Athenos Whipped Feta
  • 4 oz grated mozzarella cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • Googly eyes (optional for decoration)

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together Athenos whipped feta, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, and salt until smooth.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture, smoothing the tops without overfilling.
  5. Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut it into thin ¼-inch strips. Wrap each jalapeño half with a strip of dough, leaving space at the top for the googly eyes.
  6. Place the wrapped jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they have space between them.
  7. Brush the dough with the whisked egg.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
  9. After baking, place two googly eyes in the top part of the dough to complete the mummy look.
